While the established target audience is already secured, it is important for Dewalt to continue bringing in new loyal customers while also giving their current customers something to be excited about.
Solution
Create a contest campaign that engages users across multiple platforms including Instagram, email, and a traditional site. Focus the contest and prizes on subject matters that are worthwhile in the eyes of the target audience. This includes working on and improving an old beat-up car with the chance to win a new Toyota detailed with Dewalt's signature yellow-gold or some power and hand tools they can use for their next project.

This contest was all about the participants getting their hands dirty, which was the inspiration for the identity. Rough textures such as tire tracks, grease smudges, and cracked surfaces were used throughout the backgrounds to give this campaign a weathered look. Bold and thick typography demonstrated the heavy hitting work Dewalt users have done and continue to do since the formation of the brand in 1924.
